FDCLA’s second edition moved to the University of North Texas in Denton, where founder Gabriel Duran had taken a teaching post in the Media Arts department. Held February 23–25, 2018 across the UNT campus and UNT on the Square, it screened 34 films and closed with a Corazón Latino lifetime-achievement honor for actor Jesse Borrego.
La segunda edición de FDCLA se trasladó a la Universidad de North Texas en Denton, donde el fundador Gabriel Duran había tomado un puesto docente en el departamento de Media Arts. Celebrada del 23 al 25 de febrero de 2018 en el campus de UNT y en UNT on the Square, presentó 34 películas y cerró con un homenaje Corazón Latino a la trayectoria del actor Jesse Borrego.

The weekend paired industry programming with community celebration. A scriptwriting master class ran alongside a panel discussion, “The Latino Image in Hollywood.” Closing night brought a screening of Cantinflas with a Q&A led by its writer, Edui Tijerina Chapa, and a Corazón Latino ceremony honoring Jesse Borrego. Guest Danny De La Paz (American Me, Boulevard Nights) also attended. Performances across the weekend included Mariachi Quetzal, Mario Ramirez Reyes, Raíces Peruanas Folklóricas DFW, and Ballet Hispano de Artes. UNT’s Department of Media Arts co-sponsored the festival, which was led by Gabe Duran and Vicente Moctezuma; a closing gathering reportedly followed at La Milpa restaurant.
El fin de semana combinó programación de industria con celebración comunitaria. Una clase magistral de guionismo se realizó junto a un panel titulado “The Latino Image in Hollywood” (La imagen latina en Hollywood).
